Hi, I'm Himani.

I am a UX/UI Designer with a deep passion to create intuitive designs from concept to implementation. I've completed the UX Design Immersive program at General Assembly in 2018. Previously, I spent 8+ years working in web and graphic design.

I have worked as a website designer and I learned how to design a layout of a website, edit pictures using Photoshop, as well as how to code using HTML and CSS back home and served for 5 straight years in the corporate world.

I love....
Dance is one of the most favorite sport I have ever played. It is the one thing I absolutely love. Dance -- my passion allows me to let go of the world for a time. No matter what is going on in my life, I forget about all the stress when I am dancing. The first love of my life is -- my daughter. My husband, and I plan to settle down keeping the family small. I am currently working as a contractor in Ontario, Canada as a UX/UI Designer.

My career journey....
‍I have started my journey as a customer representative. During my time as a customer representative, I developed a strong sense of empathy for users of the carrier. I learned that life is not only about learning new things but it is all about listening to the frustrations of users and help them get out of the troubles they are facing during the network/carrier use on their phone. Then after a few months I found web designing as my choice of career and continued working for 5+ years as web ui designer.

Why the transition to User Experience? Website Design and UX Design are two peas in a consumer-focused pod. I have a strong background in the Web UI/Visual Design. For a long time, I didn’t know how to combine the two into a career. Finding UX Design was the perfect mix of the two for me. My desire to help people has not changed. I intend to multiply my prior experience as a website designer to bring a level of empathy and attention to detail that’s critical to making intuitive user experience.
